It's Showtime!

When summer comes, it comes fast. The RMBL staff have all been biting our nails the last several weeks wondering if the road was going to open. With students arriving June 9 I was starting to do mental calculations about how many students could sleep at my house. I figured we could cram quite a few in, but I wasn’t certain how we were going to get them fed. But, the sun came out, literally. It’s pretty much been warm and sunny for the last several weeks. And when the snow starts to go, it goes fast. Cormac, my oldest son, and I skied halfway out to Gothic the last weekend of May. I was driving it less than a week later. Now, the craziness of opening RMBL begins. The office is moved up and the work crew is getting cabins open. The snow is melting off on the side of Gothic Mountain, so they will be able to start on the water system pretty soon. The dining hall will be bustling with students in another week. It’s exciting!
