About

Our Mission

Nearly a Century of Discovery. Generations of Impact.

Since 1928, RMBL has brought scientists and students together to ask questions that matter: How is our world changing, and what do those changes mean for our future? Across nearly 4,000 research sites, their observations have grown into decades-long records of climate, pollination, and high-altitude ecosystems. This sustained work reveals changes a single season could never capture and has informed environmental policy, including revisions to the Clean Air Act.

At RMBL, discovery and education advance together. Programs reaching more than 800 K-12 students each year, alongside undergraduate and graduate research training, connect learners with working scientists and the scientific process. These experiences help prepare the next generation of scientists, educators, and leaders to ask better questions, evaluate evidence, and make informed decisions.

By sustaining research across generations and inspiring those who will carry it forward, RMBL turns observation into understanding, and understanding into the knowledge we need to navigate a changing world.
