- About 50% of what it costs to host a scientist is covered by donors and RMBL’s endowment, not fees.
Ways to Give
There are many ways to give. Choose the one that works best for you.
Send a Check
Mail your check to: Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, P.O. Box 519, Crested Butte, CO 81224. Please make checks payable to RMBL. A confirmation and tax receipt are emailed once the gift is received.
Wire Transfer

Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)
Recommend a grant directly from a DAF to Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory (Tax ID 84-6050523). Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, and BNY Mellon donors can give directly through their online portals. Contact our Development Team at [email protected] when initiating a gift so it can be matched to the donor and acknowledged.
Stocks and Securities

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from RMBL membership?
Membership (Renew/Join) is RMBL’s general annual-giving program, open at any amount. RMBL Explorers is the leadership-level tier for sustained annual gifts of $5,000 or more, with added recognition and access.
Can my Explorer gift be recurring?
Yes. Explorer gifts can be made as a single annual gift or split into monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual payments through the giving form.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. RMBL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Tax ID 84-6050523, and gifts of any size are tax-deductible, there is no minimum. A receipt is provided for tax purposes; the value of any benefits received (vest, pin) will be noted as required by law.
Can my company match my Explorer gift?
Many employers match charitable gifts. Check with an HR department, or contact our Development Team at [email protected] for help with the paperwork.
Is the Explorer level per person or per household?
Per household. One annual gift at the Marmot, Columbine, or Hummingbird level covers a couple or family.
